On week after setting a Red Lion single-game rushing record, quarterback Zach Throne was at it again on the road at New Oxford on Friday night.

In only nine carries, Throne ran for 248 yards with four touchdowns as the Lions rolled to a 46-21 win against the Colonials.

Red Lion scored on its first three offensive plays and never looked back. The team ran a total of 20 plays in the opening half and scored on seven of those.

The Lions starters only played in the first half and the JV players gained valuable experience after halftime.

Coach Jesse Shay said the team did a nice job preparing for the game, considering New Oxford has yet to grab a win.

"We stressed all week that anyone can beat anyone," Shay said. "The ultimate goal as a coach is to get kids ready for every game, not just the big ones."

Of course, there is a big - ok, huge - game this Friday as the undefeated Lions (7-0) will host Central York. Both teams are 4-0 in Division I, and the Panthers are 5-2 overall.

"Central York is so good at their positions across the board. Their defense is so fast," said Shay. "Their quarterback is really good and we will be (watching video) trying to figure out his reads, and study their blocking patterns."
